Premier Media Partner

WWJ 950 Newsradio
WWJ.950 Newsradio is recognized in the Detroit Metropolitan area as having both the largest AM audience and for their integrity, commitment to neutrality and journalistic excellence. Recently, WWJ has launched an initiative entitled “Caring For Your Aging Parents” in response to recent statistics that show that nearly 1 in 4 adult Americans is currently caring for an aging parent. This on-line resource center helps caregivers prepare for and answer the needs of a parent facing a health concern or economic challenge and provides support for those who are dealing with the aftermath of a prolonged illness or death. As part of WWJ’s dedication to providing the best information possible, they have partnered with the Institute of Gerontology to enhance the content of this website, expand awareness of the IOG’s research and outreach and to work toward enhanced resources and programming.

American House operates 29 well-maintained and secure senior living residences in southeastern Michigan. In business since 1979, they provide housing for the elderly that ranges from cost-efficient apartments to luxury condominiums. Their independent living facilities have social, cultural, recreational and fitness activities as well as libraries, beautfy salons and barber shops, walking gardens, carports, concierge services and of course, on-site management and visiting physicians and podiatrists. As part of an expression of their dedication to the aging population in Metropolitan Detroit, the founders of American House Senior Residences have created The American House Foundation. This non-profit organization is dedicated to correcting the health disparities in our senior population and is unique in the community. The majority of funds raised are distributed to non-profit organizations who distribute them directly to under-served seniors today. The Foundation also seeks long-term solutions to the problems that plague our seniors by supporting the research and educational programming of The Institute of Gerontology and seeks solutions. This legacy partnership is a fusion of the mission of American House Foundation and The Institute of Gerontology. To donate, please call 313-875-6834.
