The IOG offers outstanding academic and professional opportunities for education and training in aging and health.

Pre-Doctoral

Attention Wayne State University graduate students: this interdisciplinary research training program supports full-time graduate students for up to 5 years. Application to the program is competitive. Trainees in the program pursue their PhD in their home departments/programs and obtain additional research mentorship and professional development at the IOG.

Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Gerontology is a 12 credit hour program at Wayne State University. The Certificate program, administered by the School of Social Work is designed to prepare graduate students, individual practitioners, and professionals with additional academic expertise in the field of aging.

Continuing education is a requirement for many working in the field of aging. The IOG sponsors a variety of CE-eligible conferences and workshops throughout the year.
