Elder Advisor’s To Research (EAR)

Education, Outreach & Research

EAR is a group of seniors and senior service coordinators who have joined together and created a programming venue for seniors by seniors. They developed the Art of Aging Conference that is put on every March and determine speakers and subject matter. The EAR also helps facilitate the Windows on the World of Aging Learning Series.

For more information about the EAR and what role you can play please contact Donna MacDonald, Outreach Coordinator, at 313.577.2297 or email

 her at donnamacdonald@wayne.edu.    .

Come and help make a difference in the lives of Metro Detroit seniors by providing them with educational and informative conferences that will help enhance their lifestyle;
encourage socialization, healthy living and creative endeavors.

The Healthier Black Elder Center (HBEC) Participant Resource Pool (PRP)

Education, Outreach & Research
HBEC not only provides resources for today but it lays the foundation for reliable research for tomorrow. The HBEC invites African American men and women aged 55 and older who are interested in noninvasive research to join its pool of partners willing to consider participating in future research projects. Health disparities still exist between African Americans and other ethnic groups, so more research is needed to determine causes and solutions. A pool of potential participants is critical for this research.

To be a participant in the HBEC PRP please contact Karen L. Daniels, Community Outreach Specialist at 313.871.0735 or email her at kldaniels@wayne.edu.

We are deeply grateful to every elder who volunteers to help.
