Windows on the World of Aging
“Windows on the World of Aging” is a dynamic new learning series developed by the outreach department at the Institute of Gerontology in 2007 to educate seniors in smaller, informal settings. Forums are held 6-8 times per year across the Metropolitan Detroit area, to audiences of between 40-100 seniors. They consist of a variety of topics and speakers from the academic and professional community.
Our senior population is faced with constantly changing needs and industry trends. By providing cutting edge education in an environment that allows for open dialogue with experts, we can help to provide the key to a healthy, productive way of life.
The faculty and staff at the IOG appreciate the commitment to senior education and knowledge of our corporate and community partners.“Windows” provides an opportunity for these partners and others to connect their knowledge to seniors through speaking opportunities at these forums. By connecting resources in a grassroots environment and combining corporate identities with the Institute of Gerontology and its position, we further the mission to promote successful aging in the Detroit area and beyond!
